Shoe Game

Written by
Everybody takes off a shoe and throws them in a pile on the floor. At the count of three, everyone has to grab a shoe from the pile, then find the person with the matching shoe on their other foot and find out their name and three things about them they didn't already know (like where they go to school or how many brothers or sisters they have). This is fun because everyone is trying to find someone while someone else is trying to find them. Works best with larger (10) groups. After everyone has found their person and asked them the questions, then go around the circle and have everyone introduce the person they talked to and tell the three things about them.

Sharks

Written by
Ice breaker. need chalk or hula hoops (plastic hoops people twirl around their waists). Draw four circles of about one diameter on the floor. These represent islands. Everyone mills around the hall (in the sea) until SHARKS is called out - then everyone has to get onto an island to be safe, anyone not on the island in ten is eaten by a shark and so out of the game. Remove islands at your pleasure forcing more and more people out of the game until you have a champ!

Pyramid

Written by
This requires 6 kids, the idea is they have to from a human pyramid. Three strong ones kneel side by side on their hands and knees, the middle person should be the strongest. Then two others climb on top of them and kneel with a hand and knee on each of the two kids below them (the middle person must support the weight of two set of hands and knees). Finally the last person climbs to the very top of the pyramid. Its fun to see of they can stand up on top of everyone.

Pool Noodle Fencing

Written by
Take one pool noodle and cut it in half to make two "swords." The rules are simple. The two combatants face one another with the swords in one hand. The other hand has to be behind their back. The scoring zone is from the shoulders to the waist. The first person to hit the other person in the zone 5 times wins the round. You can make this into a tournament by having the all the winners play each other until there are only two teens left. Declare the Pool Noodle Fencing Champion from their bout.

Pool Noodle Blindman's Bluff

Written by
Basically, this is a form of blindman's bluff. Blind fold one person and give them half of a pool noodle. Then yell go, and they have to run arround trying to hit other people with the noodle. Have at least one leader make sure that the blindfolded person does not hurt themselves by running into walls or something. As an alternative version of this game, have the blindfolded person stand in the middle of the room and have everyone run from side to side when someone says go. You could add several blind people to this version to allow the blind people to have a better chance at getting everyone.

Outrageous Centipede

Written by
Divide players into two teams. Mark the Start and Finish lines about 30 feet apart. Teams line up with one person behind the other, facing the finish line. Next, players sit down and wrap their legs around the person in front to form the body of the centipede. Players' arms become the legs. When the leader says "Go," players lift with their arms and begin to push the centipede toward the finish line. If players become separated, they must try and reconnect. The winning centipede must completely cross the finish line with all its players connected

Musical Circles

Written by
Have each person find a partner. Have them make two circles - one inside the other (each partner should be in a different circle facing their partner.) The object is to be the last couple in the game. NOTE: You'll need a CD player or tape player. When the music is ON they should be walking around in their circles - In opposite directions. (i.e.: inner circle clockwise and outer circle counter-clockwise.) When you STOP the music yell out 2 body parts (i.e.: foot and ear) and they need to find their partner and connect the body parts (i.e...touch one persons foot to the other person's ear). They need to hold their position until you tell them to circle up again. After a couple of practice rounds, start calling the last 2 or 3 couples out, and have them sit by the side. If you have some good music, have them clapping with the music to keep from getting bored (or in trouble)You can use any number of body parts i.e.: rump, knee, foot, ear, head, nose, etc...usually as a last one - when there's only a couple of couples left, (for the older kids) use something like nose to nose, or nose to ear. . they don't really end up doing anything, but it looks incriminating, and the hesitation can often be funny
